Construction activities continue on the Forest Park Bluff Slope Stabilization Project - and the retaining wall is starting to take shape.
For the next few weeks, crews will continue putting up steel beams, pouring concrete, and putting up wall panels.
With the Bluff Stabilization Project underway, the timing is right to rebuild a pedestrian connection between the bluff and the beach. The Forest Park Beach Pathway Project intends to do just that - provide funding for the construction of a wooden pathway, which will extend from the upper parking lot to the playground at the beach.
The City has committed $1.3 million and fundraising is underway to raise an additional $1.5 million from private donors. Thanks to a generous lead donation from Diana & David Moore, as well as significant individual contributions, we are more than halfway to our goal!
