By Kristin Elliott Lake Forest Parks & Recreation’s Junior Scouts Travel Baseball players got a big-league boost when Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Caleb Durbin stopped by winter workouts for a visit they won’t soon forget.
Durbin shared his path from Lake Forest High School baseball to the Major Leagues, talked about the work it takes to chase big goals, and answered thoughtful questions from players and parents.
The event wrapped up with plenty of smiles as he posed for photos and signed baseballs, jerseys, and memorabilia, creating standout moments for young athletes and their families.
Moments like these are just one part of what makes Junior Scouts Baseball at Lake Forest Parks & Recreation special. White Level (house) leagues are designed for players new to the sport, focusing on basic skills, learning, confidence, and fun.
Blue and Gold Travel teams are intended for more advanced players who seek additional competition and development, providing opportunities to play against other towns. The program emphasizes skill development, teamwork, leadership, and a lifelong love of the game.
With baseball season starting soon, now’s the time to get ready for another spring filled with growth, competition, and plenty of time on the diamond. Learn more and register for White Level Leagues at LFParksandRec.com.
